FGFR 계열은 암, 류머티즘성 관절염, 당뇨병성 망막병증 등 여러 질환과 관련이 있으며, FGFR2 유전자 변이는 Crouzon, Pfeiffer, Apert, Jackson-Weiss, Beare-Stevenson, Saethre-Chotzen 등 다양한 증후군과 연관되어 있습니다. 이 유전자는 여러 가지 대체 스플라이싱 변형을 통해 다양한 아이소폼을 생성합니다.
