Antibody detects endogenous levels of total ING3.
Target Information
The ING3 protein is similar to ING1, a tumor suppressor protein that interacts with TP53, inhibits cell growth, and induces apoptosis. It contains a PHD-finger motif common in chromatin remodeling proteins and can activate p53 trans-activated promoters such as p21/waf1 and bax. Overexpression of ING3 inhibits cell growth and induces apoptosis. Reduced expression and allelic loss have been observed in head and neck cancers. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
