Target Information
PIP5K1A (phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate 5-kinase type I alpha) is a lipid kinase that phosphorylates phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate to form phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate. It is essential for Wnt3a-induced LRP6 phosphorylation and mediates phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate formation via frizzled and disheveled interactions. PIP5K1A-mediated PIP(2) production is crucial for HIV-1 entry and early infection processes in lymphocytes. Overexpression of PI4P5K1A enhances HIV-1 Env-mediated PIP(2) production and viral replication.
