Target Information
The RNF139 protein is a multi-membrane spanning protein containing a RING-H2 finger domain. It is located in the endoplasmic reticulum and exhibits ubiquitin ligase activity. The gene may be disrupted by translocation in families with hereditary renal and non-medullary thyroid cancer. Studies in Drosophila suggest possible interactions with tumor suppressor protein VHL and COPS5/JAB1, involved in degradation of CDKN1B/P27KIP.
