Target Information
Heterotrimeric guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) integrate signals between receptors and effector proteins, and are composed of alpha, beta, and gamma subunits encoded by related gene families. The GNB2 gene encodes a beta subunit, which regulates alpha subunits and certain signal transduction receptors and effectors. This gene includes a trinucleotide (CCG) repeat length polymorphism in its 5′ UTR.
