Target Information
TDE1 (tumor differentially expressed protein 1) is a multi-pass membrane protein also known as serine incorporator 3. It is found on Golgi membranes and is highly expressed in neuronal populations, as well as in thymus, kidney, liver, and testis. Tumor tissues can show up to tenfold higher expression compared to normal tissue, suggesting involvement in oncogenesis. TDE1 may protect cells from serum starvation and etoposide-induced apoptosis, possibly through aberrant methylation mechanisms.
