RRM1 (Ribonucleotide reductase M1 polypeptide) is one of two non-identical subunits forming ribonucleoside-diphosphate reductase, an enzyme that catalyzes the biosynthesis of deoxyribonucleotides from ribonucleotides. It provides the precursors necessary for DNA synthesis and is involved in carcinogenesis and tumor progression.
