Target Information
LRIG1 protein (UniProt ID: Q96JA1) is encoded by a gene located on chromosome band 3p14.3, a region frequently deleted in various human cancers. LRIG1 functions as a tumor suppressor gene and is an integral cell-surface membrane protein expressed in specific human tissues. The 143-kDa form may be cleaved into 111-kDa and 32-kDa fragments. LRIG1 may inhibit glial tumor growth, and its down-regulation is associated with tumor development and progression.
