Product Specific Information

The 1B1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD1d, a 48 kDa glycoprotein structurally homologous to MHC class I molecules. CD1d associates with beta2m and functionally resembles MHC Class II. 1B1 detects CD1d at varying levels on mouse leukocytes and recognizes beta2m-associated CD1d.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Mouse splenocytes, ≤0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Antibody titration recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information

CD1d is a heavy chain associated with Beta-2 microglobulin on cortical thymocytes. It can also be expressed independently on human intestinal epithelial cells. CD1d is the sole group 2 member of the CD1 family of MHC-like glycoproteins. These proteins present lipid and glycolipid antigens to T cells. The CD1d gene, located on chromosome 1, encodes a transmembrane glycoprotein that localizes to late endosomes and lysosomes via a tyrosine-based motif.
Diseases associated with CD1D include Mycobacterium Malmoense and Autoimmune Disease.
