Target Information
TET1은 포유류 DNA의 반복 서열에 존재하는 5-메틸시토신(5mC)에 특이적으로 결합하는 디옥시게나아제로, 레트로트랜스포존 억제 및 배아 발달에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
이 효소는 5-메틸시토신(5mC)을 5-하이드록시메틸시토신(hmC)으로 전환시키며, hmC는 염색질 구조 조절, 특정 인자 모집, 또는 시토신 탈메틸화의 중간체로 작용할 수 있습니다.
hmC는 배아줄기세포(ES cells) 및 뇌, 특히 푸르킨예 세포에서 풍부하게 존재하며, 심장, 폐, 뇌의 태아 발달에도 관여할 수 있습니다.
