Protein kinase A (PKA, cAMP-dependent protein kinase)는 세포 주기, 세포 간 신호 전달, 기억 형성 및 행동에 중요한 신호 경로의 핵심 요소입니다.
PKA는 두 개의 촉매 서브유닛(PKAc)과 두 개의 조절 서브유닛(PKAr)으로 구성되어 있습니다.
cAMP 결합 시 복합체가 분리되어 활성화된 PKAc 단량체가 형성되며, 이는 핵으로 이동해 다양한 핵 호르몬 수용체를 활성화합니다.
인간은 세 가지 PKAc 서브유닛(alpha, beta, gamma)을 발현하며, alpha는 대부분의 조직에서, gamma는 고환에서 주로 발견됩니다.
