Target Information
PTBP1 유전자는 널리 발현되는 heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs) 하위군에 속합니다. hnRNPs는 RNA 결합 단백질로, heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA)와 복합체를 형성하며 pre-mRNA 가공 및 mRNA 대사, 수송에 영향을 줍니다. 일부 hnRNP 단백질은 핵과 세포질 사이를 이동하며, RNA 결합 특성이 다릅니다. PTBP1 단백질은 quasi-RNA recognition motif (RRM) 도메인을 네 개 포함하고 있으며, pre-mRNA 스플라이싱에 필요한 intronic polypyrimidine tract에 결합합니다. 또한 U2 snRNP의 pre-mRNA 결합을 촉진할 수 있으며, ubiquitin-proteasome 경로를 통한 단백질 분해에 관여합니다. 이 단백질은 핵질(nucleoplasm)에 위치하며, perinucleolar 구조에서도 검출됩니다. 다양한 isoform을 암호화하는 대체 스플라이싱 전사체가 보고되어 있습니다.
