Antibody detects endogenous levels of total MAGEC1.
Target Information
MAGEC1 is a member of the melanoma antigen gene (MAGE) family. Proteins in this family are tumor-specific antigens recognized by autologous cytolytic T lymphocytes. MAGEC1 contains numerous unique short repetitive sequences preceding the MAGE-homologous sequence, making it approximately 800 residues longer than other MAGE proteins. It is expressed in various tumor types but silent in normal tissues except testis. The function of this gene remains unknown.
