Target Information
Rubicon (RUN domain Beclin-1 interacting and cysteine-rich containing protein) interacts with Beclin-1 and ATG14L, regulating autophagy at different stages.
- Knockdown of Rubicon enhances autophagy, while ATG14L knockdown causes defects in autophagosome formation.
- Rubicon is part of a Beclin-1–PIK3C3-containing autophagy complex and acts as a positive regulator of the NADPH oxidase complex.
- Upon microbial infection or TLR2 activation, Rubicon interacts with CYBA subunit, inducing reactive oxygen species and inflammatory cytokine production.
