Target Information
The E2F6 gene encodes a member of the E2F transcription factor family, which plays a crucial role in cell cycle regulation and tumor suppressor protein activity. Unlike other E2F members, E2F6 lacks transactivation and tumor suppressor association domains but contains a modular suppression domain that inhibits E2F-dependent transcription. It forms part of a multimeric complex with histone methyltransferase and transcription factors Mga and Max. Multiple transcript variants exist, though their functional isoforms are not clearly established.
