Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor family and acts as one of four receptors for prostaglandin E2. It can activate T-cell factor signaling, mediate PGE2-induced expression of early growth response 1, regulate cyclooxygenase-2 mRNA stability, and induce phosphorylation of glycogen synthase kinase-3. Knockout studies in mice suggest involvement in neonatal circulatory adaptation, osteoporosis, and initiation of skin immune responses.
