Holliday junction recognition protein (HJURP)는 중심체 단백질로, 히스톤 H3 유사 변이체 CENPA의 중심체 내 삽입 및 유지에 핵심적인 역할을 합니다. HJURP는 CENPA의 특이적 샤페론으로 작용하며, 복제된 중심체에서 새로 합성된 CENPA 분자를 뉴클레오솜에 통합하는 데 필요합니다. 또한 CENPA-H4 테트라머화 및 조기 DNA 결합을 방지하며, Holliday junction에 직접 결합합니다.
