Target Information
UBE2D2 encodes a ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme (E2 family) involved in the ubiquitination process, which targets abnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation.
This enzyme participates in the ubiquitination of tumor suppressor protein p53, mediated by an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase.
Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encode distinct isoforms.
