Target Information
The IL1R2 protein is a cytokine receptor belonging to the interleukin 1 receptor family. It binds IL1A, IL1B, and IL1R1/IL1RA, acting as a decoy receptor that inhibits the activity of its ligands. IL4 antagonizes IL1 activity by inducing IL1R2 expression. The IL1R2 gene is part of a cytokine receptor cluster on chromosome 2q12, with two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein.
