Product Specific Information
- For Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.
Target Information
MMP3 (stromelysin-1) belongs to the peptidase M10A subfamily. It is secreted as a pro-protein and activated by extracellular proteinase cleavage. MMP3 binds zinc and calcium ions and exhibits metallo-endopeptidase activity. The active enzyme degrades collagen, gelatin, fibronectin, and laminin, contributing to wound repair and tissue remodeling. Mutations in the gene are associated with coronary heart disease.
