Target Information
HNRPA0 belongs to the A/B subfamily of ubiquitously expressed heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs). The hnRNPs are RNA-binding proteins that complex with heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA). These proteins are associated with pre-mRNAs in the nucleus and influence pre-mRNA processing, mRNA metabolism, and transport.
While most hnRNPs are localized in the nucleus, some shuttle between the nucleus and cytoplasm. The hnRNP proteins exhibit distinct nucleic acid binding properties. The HNRPA0 protein contains two quasi-RRM domains that bind RNAs, followed by a glycine-rich C-terminus.
