ASB13 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 ankyrin repeat 및 SOCS box를 포함하는 단백질 군에 속합니다. SOCS box는 cytokine 신호 억제 단백질과 그 결합 파트너를 elongin B 및 C 복합체와 연결하여 분해를 유도할 수 있습니다. 여러 가지 대체 스플라이싱 전사체 변형이 보고되었으나, 이들의 완전 길이 서열은 알려져 있지 않습니다.
