Target Information
SUPT5H (Suppressor of Ty 5 Homolog) is a component of the DSIF complex, which regulates mRNA processing and transcription elongation by RNA polymerase II.
- Positively regulates mRNA capping by stimulating RNGTT/CAP1A.
- Cooperates with NELF complex to enhance transcriptional pausing near promoters.
- Promotes formation of elongation-competent RNA polymerase II complexes.
- Suppresses premature release of HIV-1 transcripts and facilitates Tat-dependent elongation activation.
