Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge if solution is not clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-rabbit serum, purified and partially purified Myeloperoxidase [Human Leukocytes]. Cross-reactivity against Myeloperoxidase from other tissues and species may occur but has not been specifically determined.
Target Information
Myeloperoxidase (MPO) is a heme protein synthesized during myeloid differentiation and is a major component of neutrophil azurophilic granules. It is produced as a single-chain precursor and subsequently cleaved into light and heavy chains. Mature MPO is a tetramer composed of two light chains and two heavy chains.
This enzyme produces hypohalous acids essential for neutrophil microbicidal activity.
Diseases associated with MPO include Myeloperoxidase Deficiency and Familial Alzheimer’s Disease type 1.
