Target Information
CD13 (ANPEP) is a 150–170 kDa type II transmembrane zinc-binding ectopeptidase expressed on various cell types.
It catalyzes the removal of neutral amino acids from small peptides, activating or inactivating bioactive peptides.
CD13 is involved in extracellular matrix degradation, antigen processing, signal transduction, and inflammatory responses.
It regulates intercellular contact, cell motility, and vascularization.
CD13 is expressed by granulocytes, monocytes, and myeloid leukemia cells, and its expression is associated with poor prognosis in carcinomas.
Additionally, CD13 functions as an aminopeptidase enzyme and serves as an alpha receptor for coronavirus.
