Antibody detects endogenous levels of total Cytokeratin 10.
Target Information
Cytokeratins (CK) are intermediate filaments found in epithelial cells, including both keratinizing (e.g., skin) and non-keratinizing (e.g., mesothelial) tissues. Though not typical endothelial markers, some microvascular endothelial cells express cytokeratins. Over 20 CK types (40–70 kDa, pI 5–8.5) can be identified via 2D gel electrophoresis. CKs are divided into type I (acidic) and type II (basic) classes, with both types co-expressed in epithelial cells. Monoclonal antibodies against CKs are valuable for tumor identification and classification.
