The Human KRT18 Simplex ProcartaPlex™ Kit measures KRT18 protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits to create a custom multiplex panel utilizing Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation.
When combining multiple Simplex kits, only one buffer kit (sold separately) is needed per assay plate, regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on the principles of a sandwich ELISA, using two highly specific antibodies binding to different epitopes of one protein to quantify multiple targets simultaneously using a Luminex instrument.

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single small-volume sample from plasma, serum, or cell culture supernatants.

The Luminex beads are internally dyed with precise proportions of red and infrared fluorophores, providing unique spectral signatures identifiable by Luminex detection systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX).
Like a sandwich ELISA, matched antibody pairs identify the protein of interest. Each bead is labeled with antibodies specific for a single target protein, and bound proteins are detected using biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).

In ProcartaPlex assays, the capture antibody is conjugated to a bead rather than adsorbed to a microplate well, allowing reagents to remain free-floating. Detection instruments such as Luminex 200 use two lasers—one for bead identification and another to quantify RPE fluorescence proportional to protein concentration.

ProcartaPlex multiplex assays enable profiling of more target proteins using significantly less sample volume and similar assay time compared to traditional ELISA.

ProcartaPlex multiplex panels are available across six species: human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, and canine.
