EGFR (Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor)는 다양한 성장 인자에 반응하여 신호를 전달하는 수용체 티로신 키나아제입니다. EGFR의 과발현은 여러 종류의 암과 관련이 있으며, 생물학적 치료제 및 저분자 억제제의 주요 표적입니다.
EGFR 유전자는 인간 염색체 7번에 위치하며, HER/ERbB 단백질 패밀리(ERbB2, ERbB3, ERbB4 포함)에 속합니다. EGF 및 TGF-α와 같은 리간드가 결합하면 EGFR은 이합체를 형성하고, 세포질 도메인의 티로신 잔기가 자가 인산화되어 신호 전달이 활성화됩니다.
EGFR의 과발현은 두경부, 뇌, 방광, 위, 유방, 폐, 자궁내막, 자궁경부, 외음부, 난소, 식도, 위 및 편평세포암 등 다양한 종양에서 관찰됩니다.
