Target Information
The HOXC13 gene belongs to the homeobox family of transcription factors, which are essential for morphogenesis in multicellular organisms. Mammals have four homeobox gene clusters (HOXA, HOXB, HOXC, HOXD), each located on different chromosomes. HOXC13, located on chromosome 12, is involved in the development of hair, nails, and filiform papilla.
