Product Specific Information
Antibody detects endogenous levels of FOXL2 only when phosphorylated at Ser238.
Target Information
FOXL2 is a winged helix/forkhead transcription factor highly conserved in human, goat, mouse, and certain aquatic species. It plays a critical role in ovarian differentiation and follicle development. Immunohistochemical data indicate FOXL2 is a nuclear protein expressed in eyelids and ovarian follicular cells. It is associated with blepharophimosis/ptosis/epicanthus inverses syndrome (BPES), which has two forms:
- Type I: eyelid abnormalities with ovarian failure
- Type II: eyelid defects only
FOXL2 expression has been observed in developing mouse eyelid mesenchyme and adult ovarian follicles.
