Target Information
The transmembrane protein 135 (TMEM135), also known as peroxisomal membrane protein 52 (PMP52), was initially identified as a protein potentially critical for adipogenesis and osteoblastogenesis.
Further studies indicate that TMEM135 is part of a regulatory circuit important for fat metabolism and energy expenditure in both C. elegans and mammalian organisms.
Recent experiments suggest TMEM135 may also act as a driver of breast cancer.
