Target Information
CD200 is a type-1 membrane glycoprotein containing two immunoglobulin domains and belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is a broadly distributed cell surface glycoprotein that interacts with CD200R on myeloid cells, preventing macrophage activation.
Homologues of CD200 are found in many herpesviruses and poxviruses. Studies in mouse and rat suggest CD200 regulates myeloid cell activity and provides inhibitory signaling to macrophages in various tissues. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
Diseases associated with CD200 dysfunction include Mantle Cell Lymphoma and Primary Hypertrophic Osteoarthropathy.
