The S-Peptide epitope tag (S-Tag™) is a 15 amino acid sequence used for multiple applications, including localization analysis, expression detection, and purification of polypeptides from mammalian cells.
Its small size, ability to purify tagged proteins without antibodies, and minimal endogenous reactivity make it an attractive alternative to other epitope tags.
Epitope tagging enables detection and purification of proteins expressed from cloned genes.
Protein expression vectors are designed with a nucleotide sequence encoding the peptide epitope tag. When expressed, the protein of interest is fused with the tag, allowing specific detection and purification using antibodies against the tag.
