Product Specific Information

The L17F12 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD5, a 67 kDa protein expressed by most thymocytes, mature T cells, and a subset of B cells. CD5 signaling activates T cells and mediates T-B cell interactions via CD72 binding, playing an important role in proliferation.

  • Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
  • Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells
  • Recommended Usage: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per 100 µL test volume (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test)
  • Excitation: 488 nm
  • Emission: 520 nm
  • Laser: Blue Laser
  • Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered

Target Information

CD5 is a 67 kDa human T-lymphocyte single-chain transmembrane glycoprotein present on all mature T-lymphocytes, most thymocytes, and many T-cell leukemias and lymphomas. It also reacts with a subset of activated B-cells and may regulate T-cell proliferation. CD5 is found on approximately 95% of thymocytes and 72% of peripheral blood lymphocytes, primarily in T-cell areas of lymph nodes. Diseases associated with CD5 dysfunction include thymus cancer and Richter’s Syndrome.
