Product Specific Information

The UCHT2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD5, a 67 kDa protein expressed by a majority of thymocytes and mature T cells and a subset of B cells.
Signaling through CD5 activates T cells and mediates interaction with B cell ligand CD72, playing a role in T-B cell proliferation.
The UCHT2 antibody recognizes primate CD5.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells.
Recommended usage: 5 µL (1 µg) per test (final volume 100 µL; 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Excitation: 488 nm

Target Information

CD5 is a 67 kDa human T-lymphocyte single-chain transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on most thymocytes, mature T cells, and some B cells.
It is involved in T-cell activation and proliferation. CD5 expression is observed in T-cell leukemias, lymphomas, and activated T cells.
Diseases associated with CD5 dysfunction include thymus cancer and Richter’s Syndrome.
