Target Information

Vasodilator-stimulated phosphoprotein (VASP) is a member of the Ena-VASP protein family. Members of this family contain:

• An EVH1 N-terminal domain that binds proteins with E/DFPPPPXD/E motifs and targets them to focal adhesions
• A proline-rich domain in the mid-region that binds SH3 and WW domain-containing proteins
• A C-terminal EVH2 domain that mediates tetramerization and binds both G and F actin

VASP is associated with filamentous actin formation and plays a role in cell adhesion and motility. It may also participate in intracellular signaling pathways regulating integrin–extracellular matrix interactions and is regulated by cyclic nucleotide-dependent kinases PKA and PKG.
