Target Information
UBE2T is involved in the covalent conjugation of ubiquitin to proteins, regulating diverse cellular pathways. It functions as a ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme (E2) that transfers ubiquitin from the E1 complex to substrate proteins via E3 ligases. UBE2T catalyzes monoubiquitination and participates in mitomycin-C (MMC)-induced DNA repair by monoubiquitinating FANCD2, a key step in the DNA damage pathway. Mutations in the UBE2T gene are associated with Fanconi anemia complementation group T.
