Product Specific Information

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned, and individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.
Advantages include:

  • Improved specificity and sensitivity
  • Lot-to-lot consistency
  • Animal origin-free formulation
  • Broader immunoreactivity due to the rabbit immune repertoire

Target Information

8-hydroxyguanine is a form of oxidative DNA damage caused by free radicals, leading to G:C to T:A transversions.
In E. coli, three DNA repair enzymes prevent the mutagenic effects of 8-hydroxyguanine. One of these, MutM, has yeast (yOgg1) and human (hOgg1) homologues.
hOgg1 proteins efficiently remove 8-hydroxyguanine opposite pyrimidines from DNA and cleave AP sites similarly to bacterial and yeast enzymes.
Genetic control of DNA repair influences cancer susceptibility. The hOgg1 gene is mapped to 3p26.2, a region with loss of heterozygosity (LOH) in various cancers, notably lung cancer.
