Annexin V 단백질은 칼슘 의존성 인지질 결합 단백질 패밀리에 속하며, 세포막 관련 과정(엑소시토시스 및 엔도시토시스 경로)에 관여합니다.
Annexin V는 phospholipase A2 및 protein kinase C 억제 단백질로, 칼슘 채널 활성과 세포 신호전달, 염증, 성장, 분화 과정에 잠재적 역할을 합니다.
또한 placental anticoagulant protein I, vascular anticoagulant-alpha, endonexin II, lipocortin V, placental protein 4, anchorin CII 등의 이름으로도 알려져 있습니다.
이 유전자는 약 29 kb 길이로 13개의 엑손을 포함하며, 약 1.6 kb의 단일 전사체와 약 35 kDa의 단백질을 생성합니다.
