Target Information
SPRTN is a regulator of UV-induced DNA damage response. It acts as a “reader” of ubiquitinated PCNA, enhancing RAD18-mediated PCNA ubiquitination and translesion DNA synthesis. SPRTN is recruited to sites of UV damage and interacts with ubiquitinated PCNA and RAD18, facilitating chromatin association of RAD18 and promoting efficient PCNA monoubiquitination. It also aids localization of DNA polymerase eta (POLH) to UV damage sites.
