Product Specific Information

This TULY56 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD56 (Neural Cell Adhesion Molecule, NCAM).
CD56 is a glycosylated transmembrane molecule expressed by neurons and involved in homotypic neural cell adhesion. In hematopoietic cells, CD56 is expressed on NK cells and NKT subsets.

  • TULY56 does not block CMSSB binding, indicating recognition of different epitopes.
  • Performs better after fixation/permeabilization than CMSSB.
  • Cross-reacts with Rhesus macaque.
  • Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
  • Tested by flow cytometry on normal human peripheral blood cells.
  • Use at 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test (100 µL final volume).
  • Recommended cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Fluorochrome Characteristics:
Super Bright 645 is a tandem dye excited by the violet laser (405 nm) and emits at 645 nm. Use a 660/20 bandpass filter. Protect from light due to photo-oxidation sensitivity.

Staining Panel Recommendation:
When using multiple Super Bright dyes, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize polymer interactions.

Fixation Compatibility:
Samples can be fixed in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C with minimal brightness loss.

Target Information

CD56 (NCAM) is a transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin family expressed in the nervous system (120–180 kDa isoforms).
It mediates cell adhesion, migration, axonal growth, and synaptic plasticity. Polysialic modification reduces adhesion.
CD56 interacts with extracellular matrix components such as laminin and integrins, and is expressed in neuroectodermal tissues and tumors (retinoblastoma, medulloblastoma, astrocytoma, neuroblastoma).
It is a sensitive neuroendocrine marker for neuroendocrine and ovarian granulosa cell tumors.
Associated diseases include rabies and blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasms.
