Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
GFAP (Glial fibrillary acidic protein)은 class III intermediate filament 단백질 패밀리에 속하며, 주로 중추신경계의 성상세포(astrocyte) 및 특정 교세포에서 강하게 발현된다.
GFAP 항체는 astrocytic cell의 마커로 유용하며, 다양한 뇌종양에서 높은 발현을 보인다. 또한, 수정체 상피, 간의 Kupffer 세포, 일부 타액선 종양 세포, 적혈구 등에서도 검출된다.
GFAP는 신경 발달 과정에서 astrocyte와 다른 glial cell을 구분하는 데 사용되며, 이 유전자의 돌연변이는 Alexander disease를 유발한다.
GFAP 유전자는 여러 isoform을 암호화하는 다양한 전사체 변이를 가진다.
