Product Specific Information
Antibody detects endogenous levels of TRAF7 only when phosphorylated at Ser61.
Target Information
TRAFs are signal transducers for members of the TNFR superfamily, critically involved in activation of MAP3K family members that regulate NF-kappaB and JNK activation and apoptosis.
TRAF7, a 670 amino acid protein, is a human homolog of mouse Traf7 and consists of:
- N-terminal RING finger domain
- Central TRAF domain
- Coiled-coil motif
- Seven WD40 repeats at the C-terminus
It exhibits E3-ubiquitin ligase activity for self-ubiquitination. TRAF7 interacts with MEKK3, mediates MEKK3-induced AP1 and CHOP activation, and induces apoptosis through caspase-independent pathways. It is also involved in sumoylation and negative regulation of c-Myb, thereby influencing proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic cells.
