The NK92.39.1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD96, also known as TACTILE (T cells-activated increased late expression).
CD96 is a type I membrane protein of the Immunoglobulin Superfamily that promotes NK cell adhesion to cells expressing the poliovirus receptor (CD155).
CD96 acts as a receptor for CD155; upon binding, CD96 can internalize with bound PVR, potentially leading to NK cell death. This process may be significant in tumor cells expressing high levels of PVR.
CD96 is also expressed in most CD34(+)CD38(-) Acute Myeloid Leukemic cells.

The NK92.39.1 antibody can block the binding of soluble CD155 to NK cell lines.

Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells.
Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Target Information

CD96 (TACTILE) is a cell adhesion receptor and a member of the Ig superfamily.
It is a single-pass transmembrane protein with three extracellular Ig-like domains and a proline/serine/threonine-rich region.
CD96 is expressed on monocytes and T cells at all developmental stages (including γδ T cells, thymocytes, and NK cells).
In mice, CD96 is not expressed on B cells, and no alternative splice variants exist.
CD96 binds CD155/poliovirus receptor and Nectin-1 to mediate NK cell adhesion and cytotoxicity.
