Product Specific Information

The 53-6.7 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD8a, a 32–34 kDa cell surface receptor expressed as either CD8αβ heterodimer or CD8αα homodimer.
CD8 binds MHC class I and associates with protein tyrosine kinase p56lck, playing a role in T cell development and activation.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Mouse splenocytes, ≤0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume).
Cell numbers: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
Titrate antibody for optimal performance.

Target Information

CD8 (Cluster of Differentiation 8) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein involved in T cell signal transduction and activation.
Expressed predominantly on T cells as CD8αβ heterodimers, functioning as co-receptors for MHC class I molecules.
Also expressed as CD8αα homodimers on subsets of T cells, NK cells, monocytes, and dendritic cells.
Binding of MHC-I/peptide complexes recruits Lck kinase, leading to cytokine production and cytotoxic T lymphocyte activation.
IL-2, IL-12, and TGF-β1 enhance CTL differentiation.
