Target Information
Peroxiredoxin (Prx)는 세포 증식, 분화 및 세포사멸과 관련된 퍼옥시다아제 계열 단백질입니다. 약 50개의 동종 단백질이 존재하며, 활성 부위에 시스테인 잔기를 포함하고, 티올 특이적 항산화 활성을 가집니다.
포유류 Prx는 6가지 멤버로 구성되며, 일반 2-Cys Prx, 비정형 2-Cys Prx, 1-Cys Prx로 구분됩니다. Prx VI를 제외한 다른 2-Cys Prx 이소형은 thioredoxin, thioredoxin reductase, NADPH를 이용하는 thioredoxin 의존성 퍼옥시다아제(TPx) 활성을 가집니다.
포유류 Prx 단백질은 20–30 kDa 크기로, Prx I, II, VI는 세포질에, Prx III는 미토콘드리아에, Prx IV는 ER 및 분비계에, Prx V는 퍼옥시좀, 미토콘드리아, 세포질 등 다양한 위치에 존재합니다.
