This antibody detects endogenous levels of total FANCD2.
Target Information
FANCD2 (Fanconi anemia group D2 protein) is required for the maintenance of chromosomal stability. It promotes accurate and efficient pairing of homologs during meiosis and is involved in the repair of DNA double-stranded breaks via homologous recombination and single-stranded annealing. FANCD2 is necessary for targeting and stabilizing BLM to abnormal non-centromeric structures induced by replicative stress and promotes BRCA2/FANCD1 loading onto damaged chromatin.
Defects in the FANCD2 gene cause Fanconi anemia complementation group D2, a disorder affecting all bone marrow elements resulting in anemia, leukopenia, and thrombopenia.
