Product Specific Information
The D7 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse Sca-1, an 18 kDa member of the Ly-6 family of GPI-linked surface proteins. It recognizes both Ly-6E.1 and Ly-6A.2 molecules expressed by hematopoietic stem cells, myeloid populations, and peripheral T/B cells.
Non-activated splenocytes from Ly-6.2 strains (C57BL, SJL, 129, AKR, etc.) show higher D7-positive cell frequency compared to Ly-6.1 strains (BALB/c, C3H, NZB, etc.). Sca-1 expression increases upon activation regardless of haplotype. Sca-1 is a major phenotypic marker for murine hematopoietic progenitor/stem cells.

Brilliant Violet™ 786 (BV786):
- Tandem dye emitting at 786 nm
- Designed for cytometers with 405 nm violet laser
- Protect from light (photo-oxidation sensitive)
Buffer Recommendations:
Use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.
Fixation:
Samples may be stored up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark using:
- IC Fixation Buffer (00-8222-49)
- 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (00-5333-54)
BV786 is not compatible with methanol-based fixation.
