Product Specific Information
In direct ELISAs and Western blots, approximately 40% cross-reactivity with recombinant human IDS is observed.
Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
Iduronate-2-sulfatase is required for the lysosomal degradation of heparan sulfate and dermatan sulfate. Mutations in this X-chromosome gene that result in enzymatic deficiency lead to Mucopolysaccharidosis Type II (Hunter Syndrome).
Iduronate-2-sulfatase shows strong sequence similarity with human arylsulfatases A, B, and C, and glucosamine-6-sulfatase. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
