Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

Anti-Kinesin-1 is directed against the human kinesin-1 protein. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest reactivity with human. Cross-reactivity with kinesin-1 from other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

Kinesin-1 is a microtubule-dependent motor protein required for normal distribution of mitochondria and lysosomes. It can induce formation of neurite-like membrane protrusions in non-neuronal cells in a ZFYVE27-dependent manner. It regulates centrosome and nuclear positioning during mitotic entry. During the G2 phase of the cell cycle, in a BICD2-dependent manner, it antagonizes dynein function and drives the separation of nuclei and centrosomes. It is required for anterograde axonal transport of MAPK8IP3/JIP3, which is essential for axon elongation.
